Application monitoring
Watch a patent application
We check the public file wrapper every day and email you a plain-English digest when a new document appears — what it is, what it means, and the reply deadline. Always verify in Patent Center.
Watch an application
We record everything already in the file wrapper first, so only documents that appear after you start watching can alert. Unpublished applications cannot be watched yet — the USPTO discloses nothing about them until publication.
Your watches
Your watches are tied to your email — nobody else can see them. Enter your email to get a 6-digit code, then enter the code to see and stop them. No password, no account.
How application watches work
When you watch an application, we snapshot its file wrapper first, so old documents never alert. Every day we check again and email you only if a new document appears — an office action, a restriction, a notice of allowance, or an advisory action — with the rejection grounds and the reply deadline worked out in plain English.
A watch is different from a screen: it has to remember the application number and your email to check the file wrapper and alert you, so those are stored until you stop the watch — then they are deleted. Stopping a watch removes it immediately.
